Robert "Bob" G. Aden, 90 of Chappell was called to his eternal home on Monday afternoon, July 1, 2013 at the Miller Memorial Care Center in Chappell.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Chappell with Pastor Daniel Larson officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Chappell with the family present from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Bob was born December 13, 1922 to John G. and Elizabeth (Lambertus) Aden in Gothenburg, Nebraska. He was baptized into the Christian faith on February 4, 1923 in Gothenburg. Bob moved with his family to Chappell in 1926 where he was later confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church. He graduated from Deuel County High School in 1940.

In 1941, he moved to Burbank, California and was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Corporation until joining the U.S. Navy in March of 1943, serving during World War II in the Pacific Campaign until his Honorable Discharge in March of 1946.

Bob and Leah M. Schwarz were united in marriage on December 15, 1946 in Fairbury, Nebraska by Leah's father, Rev. Benedict Schwarz. Bob and Leah lived in Chappell and were part owners in the Aden's IGA Grocery Store until their retirement in 1982. God blessed this marriage with two children: Charlotte and Timothy.

Survivors include his wife Leah of Chappell, NE; daughter Charlotte and husband Ron Kafka of Lincoln, NE; son Tim and wife Barb Aden of Sun City West, AZ; brother Boyd W. Aden of Chappell, NE; grandsons Andrew Kafka and wife Katie and Adam Kafka and wife Tiffany all of Lincoln, NE and several Great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Ehme Aden, his brother Chet and sisters Gertrude and Marjorie.
