Marvin worked the assembly line at Union City Body Co., now Workhorse Custom Chassis for nearly 48 years. He was a member of the Bad Boys Rod and Custom Car Club and Local 494 UAW.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 48 years, Betty J. (Wantz) Hampshire; a daughter, Belinda S. Sutton (husband, Steve) of Monticello, KY; a son, Randy L. Hampshire of Ridgeville, IN; two grandchildren, Lacey J and Blaine R. Sutton of Monticello, KY; two brothers, Ora Hampshire (wife, Mary) of Union City, OH and Donald Hampshire (wife, Sally) of Versailles, OH; a sister, Ola Walling of Winchester, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd Melvin, Royce and Darrel Hampshire; a sister, Elaine Hampshire; and a brother-in-law, Herman Walling.
A service to celebrate Marvin's life will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at Fraze-Brooks Memorial Chapel of Union City, IN. Burial will follow at Lisbon Cemetery of Union City. There will be no calling hours prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, 2401 University Ave. Muncie, IN 47303-3499.
