My great grandfather was in the civil war in 1862 and 1865. He went in at Illinois. He married his first wife, Sarah in Illinois and they had 1 child. Nebraska then later divorced. He moved to Missouri where he met and married my great grandmother 7/11/1889. They had 5 children, the youngest being my grandmother. He died in Missouri from illness from the war.
