Inez was born at Fairfax, Iowa November 28, 1901 to John D. and Adora Samantha (Wolf) Vredenburg. She lived her entire life in the Cedar Rapids area. She married George William Coberly, the oldest son of John Franklin "Frank" and Mattie Leona (Fore) Coberly on February 5, 1921 in Cedar Rapids. He was a farmer and mechanic. she was the mother of 10 wonderful children; George Arnold, Gladys Marie, Arlene Kathryn, Dorthy Evelyn, Mary Alice, Ruby Joan, Caroline Kaye, Cleve Edward, Mildred Leona and John Franklin, all living at the time of her death.
Inez was a loving and compassionate mother and wife. She loved to have her family, grandchildren, friends and neighbors over to her home. She was an excellent cook and could make a meal out of nothing it seemed. She always had a big garden and canned hundreds of jars of food for the cold Iowa winter months. She was a good wife, fun but strict mother, a good neighbor and friend.
Her husband succumbed to cancer February 19, 1978. They had been married 57 years at the time of his death. The evening before George's funeral, Inez had a heart attack and died. All the family had gathered from many places across the United States for the funeral the next day, when they had to quickly make arrangements for a double funeral. Both George and Inez was laid to rest in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Rest Haven Section.
