Inez was a loving and compassionate mother and wife. She loved to have her family, grandchildren, friends and neighbors over to her home. She was an excellent cook and could make a meal out of nothing it seemed. She always had a big garden and canned hundreds of jars of food for the cold Iowa winter months. She was a good wife, fun but strict mother, a good neighbor and friend.
Her husband succumbed to cancer February 19, 1978. They had been married 57 years at the time of his death. The evening before George's funeral, Inez had a heart attack and died. All the family had gathered from many places across the United States for the funeral the next day, when they had to quickly make arrangements for a double funeral. Both George and Inez was laid to rest in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Rest Haven Section.
