Tex James Cobb Tex James Cobb, a humble servant of Jesus Christ, leaped into heaven June 25, 2013

Tex was born April 27, 1924 to Weldon James and Gertrude Cobb in Dunlap, Texas.

He grew up farming and ranching outside of Paducah, Texas with a close-knit family of six sisters and four brothers. He attended school in Paducah participating in sports. Tex especially loved riding horses with his siblings.

He entered the military service in 1943 serving as a tank gunner in the United States Army in the Central Burma Campaign. He was honorably discharged in 1945 to return home to farming and ranching.

Accepting the call to the to the ministry, he attended Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas obtaining a degree and lifelong friends Rev. Carl Rea and wife Mary Ann. Rev. Cobb pastored many small Baptist churches throughout Texas, New Mexico and California. He loved God's word with all his heart committing to memory the entire King James Bible. Having a strong desire to understand God's words, he taught himself Greek and Hebrew. He then shared that knowledge with anyone that had a desire to better understand the teachings in the Bible. Tex shared his one true passion, Jesus Christ, with all he met.

Tex was married to Nellie Marie Nipper, from 1973 to 1983. They were married on 07 Feb 1973 in Kendall Co., Texas and divorced on 21 Nov 1983 in Bexar Co., Texas.

Tex cobb married Mary V. Burt in May of 1950 in Paducah, Texas. After 20 years of marriage, they divorced but remained close.
She preceded him in death in March, 2010. Other family members joining in his heavemly reunion include his beloved parents, Weldon and Gertrude Cobb, his infant twin brother Rex Cobb; two more brothers W G Cobb and Bobby Cobb and one sister Tommie Floyd; daughter-in-law Donna Cobb; brothers-in-law Lawrence Isbell; J.B. Oney; Gaylon Biddy and Wayne Jackson.

Rev. Cobb is survived by five children:
Shirley and husband Jon Gieselman of San Angelo;
Darrow Cobb and wife Diana of Merkel;
Ricky Cobb of Abilene, Tex;
Vicky Cobb householder of Merkel and
Lester (Tommy) Cobb and wife Karen of Merkel,

Ten grandchildren, Twenty-Five great grandchildren and Two great-great grandchildren.

Survivors also include five sisters, Vilma Jo and husband Jim Shaw of Georgia; Lousie Isbell of Arlington; Emily Oney of Austin; Kathryn Biddy of Quannah and Beezie Jackson of Lubbock; two brothers Freddie Cobb and wife Bernice of New Mexico and Jimmy Cobb of Tennessee and countless nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were nephews Benny Biddy; Ronnie Biddy and Bobby Biddy; grandsons Ray Cobb and Phillip Gieselman and great-grandson Jayce Cobb.

Honorary pallbearers are "the Burt Boys" Virgil, Richard, Joe, L.C., Kenneth.
