MRS. JOHN W. MARSHALL
EUFALA, Ala., Feb. 13--Funeral services for Mrs. John W. Marshall, who died Wednesday following a heart attack, were held at the Episcopal church here Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'lock.
Born in Vienna, Ga., she was formerly Miss Calla Lilly, daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. John E. Lilly. Since coming here to make her home 35 years ago as a bride she had become prominently identified with Eufala's social, church and club life, the family having purchased the historic old Beringer home on College Hill.
While serving as president of the Home and Garden Club, Marshall Park was named in her honor. She was greatly beloved here.
Surviving are her husband, Mr. John W. Marshall; and nine children, John Marshall, Washington, D.C.; Corporal Frank Marshall, U.S. A.; Mrs. W. H. Corpening, Brinson, Ga.; Mrs. Alex P. Ackerman, Jr., Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Roderick Sheyne, Mrs. J. R. Conely, Mrs. Thomas Chew, Miss Constance Marshall, all of Washington, D.C., and Miss Eleanor Marshall, Eufala.
Mrs. L. W. McKenzie, Montezuma, Ga., was a half sister.
