Ms. Bud Davis, aged about 80, died at the home of her son Pres Davis, near Loretto, Monday morning after a brief illness of pneumonia. The interment of the remains took place at Chicago Tuesday morning after a requiem mass at St. Francis church. Three sons survive her, Messrs. Pres, John, and George Davis and one daughter, Mrs. Barton Mattingly.
F. L. "Zig" Hayden, Loretto, KY, a credible historian of this parish, listed this cemetery in the 1960's or 1970's and listed these three with the Davis surname, whether from burial records, memory, interviews, or a stone, I do not know. In this list we find these three of the Davis surname, listed as follows:
Davis (child of Charles) born (no date) died 1900.
Davis, Nancy died Jan. 24, 1904 (age 79 years).
Davis, Preston born (no date) died Nov. 8, 1906.
The grave register says she was buried in cemetery #2 in an unknown grave location.
