James A. Stevens, Sr., Shawnee Mission, KS, passed away December 9,2003, at his home with his family. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, December 12 at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive; Interment in the Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. James is survived by his loving wife Joan, who were married 51 years; son Jim Stevens, Jr., Stockton, MO; daughters Marsha Stach, Shawnee KS, and Lori Harless, Olathe, KS; Sisters Frances Outon, Blanchard, OK, Emma Jane Holcomb, Shawnee, KS, and Isabel Carey, deceased; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. James was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and a member of Merriam Christian Church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cancer Action, Inc.,, 1831 Minnesota Ave., KCKS, 66102.
