Carl D. Cannefax, Sr., age 87, went to the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2013. Carl was born in Chelsea, Okla. on April 15, 1926. He graduated from Fair Grove School in 1944 and served in the Army in World War II. Carl worked for 37 years at City Utilities, as well as being a residential contractor for nearly 15 years building many houses in Springfield with his partner, Almus Gray. He was a faithful member of National Heights Baptist Church. Carl loved woodworking, fishing, the Lord Jesus and his large family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Dee and Jewell Odessa (Potter), and his brothers, Joe and Jack. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services will be on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Fair Grove. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's or National Heights Baptist Church.
