Aaron F. McWherter, 78, of Binghamton and formerly of Franklin died Tuesday, March 4 in Binghamton General Hospital.

He was born March 25, 1907, in Canada, the son of Charles and Altea (Hunter) McWherter. He Married Minnie Chapman, who survives, on Sept. 30, 1927.

For many years he operated a farm in Franklin. For the past 20 years he had resided in the Binghamton area. He was a retired employee of Whipple's Lumber Co., Binghamton.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Luther McWherter of Sherburne; a daughter, Mrs. lloyd (Virginia) Hotaling of Franklin; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a brother, Clair McWherter of Binghamton; a sister, Mrs. Phoebe Smock of Albion, PA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Timothy Riss, pastor of the Franklin United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial wil be later in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, when the family will be in attendance.
