She was born September 18, 1907, on Foster Ridge, a daughter of the late Charles and Matilda (Crossin) Battrell. She was a homemaker and a former one-room school house teacher for the Foster Ridge community and a protestant by faith.
Survivors include her sons Keith and Dwight both of Cross Lanes; daughters Patricia Jones of Charleston and Eileen Comstock of Cross Lanes; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and life-long friend Hazel Sayre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Hunt; brothers Luther and Delbert Battrell, sisters Goldie Battrell and Edna Knapp.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2006, at the Casto Funeral Home in Evans with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating. Burial followed in the Otterbein Cemetery in Evans.
