Barbara C. Hoffman, lifelong resident of the Califon area known locally as "Aunt Cassie", died at the age of 93 Monday, November 18, 1963, in the Lee Nursing Home, Frenchtown, after an illness of 15 months. Born on August 25, 1870 in rural Califon, she was the widow of Peter Hoffman and daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Clawson Burd. She was a member of the Califon Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Eudora Riley, Califon, Mrs. Lillie Brown, Elizabeth, and Mrs. Mae Rice, Flint, Mich.
