Funeral services for Marine Corp Sgt. Ricky Franklin Sugg, 25, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the Chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Stowe Harbin officiating. Interment will follow at New Forest Cemetery in Forest, LA.

Marine Corp Sgt. Ricky Franklin Sugg was born July 22, 1987 to Curtis Sugg of Pioneer, LA, and Rufina (Pining) Laffoon of Shreveport, LA, and passed away June 29, 2013 in Monroe, LA. Sgt. Sugg proudly served our country around the world from 2009 to 2013 and was an active reserve member. He was deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq and received numerous merits and awards for taking care of his men.

Sgt. Sugg was preceded in death by father, Curtis Sugg.

Sgt. Sugg is survived by his mother, Rufina Laffoon; stepfather, Daniel Laffoon; aunts and uncles, Richard and Elsie Sugg, Dale and Joyce Lowery; numerous cousins; special friend, Courtney Harger; and a host of friends domestic and abroad.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Albritton, Till Sugg, Thomas Sugg, Ryan Sampognaro, Luke Peveto, Stuart Hannah, Timothy Brock, and Shannon Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be River Oaks Class of 2005 and Echo Battalion.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the funeral home
