Paul Swezy, 91, Holden, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at home. Mr. Swezy was born in Bates City, Missouri on March 3, 1922 a son of Walter F. and Clara (Hegnaur) Swezy.

He had lived in Grain Valley and Lee's Summit before moving to Holden ten years ago.

He was a builder of custom homes and a member of Lone Jack Baptist Church.

Following service with the U.S. Army 5th Engineers in Europe during World War II he married Eleanor Jane Bupte on October 17, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri.

He leaves his wife, Eleanor Swezy, of the home; one son, Ronald Dean Swezy, Lake Lotawana, MO; three daughters, Vernie Jo Tenant, Cheyene, WY, Vera Jean Swezy-Feeler, Ft. Worth, TX, and Velta Joy Menke, Seattle, WA; one brother, Homer Swezy, Adrian, MO; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Clyde, and Elmer Swezy, and by one sister, Ethel Stamnitz.

The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Interment with Military Honors will be in Salem Cemetery, Grain Valley, MO, under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, MO
