Mary Lou Edens, 81, of Coahoma, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at her daughters residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Joey Bacon, officiating. Interment will follow at the 7 E Cemetery in Howard County.

She was born October 5, 1931, in Howard County, Texas and married Jewell "Son" Edens in 1946 in Big Spring, Texas. He preceded her in death April 19, 2008.

Mary Lou was a lifelong resident of Howard County. She had worked as a shipping clerk for GAMCO for 16 years and as a greeter at Wal Mart for over 20 years, retiring in 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Thompson of Coahoma and Rhonda Robertson of Big Spring; one son, Dandy Edens and wife, Laura of Big Spring; four brothers, Elton Weaver, Pete Allen, Eddy Ray Allen and Jerry Allen; one sister, Frances Capps; and six grandchildren, Andrea Edens, Jason Edens, Teresa Thompson, Jeanie Thompson, Richard Robertson and Jeremy Coker.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, A. W. Weaver and Weldon Weaver; and one sister, Eulene Sims.

The family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society, % Carolyn Brooks, P. O. Box 2121, Big Spring, Texas 79721-2121.
