Clyde Compton Dies Thursday, Rites Sunday
Clyde A. Compton died at 9:03 p.m. Thursday in the Shelby County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home where friends may call from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Compton was born January 10, 1893 in Shelby County, the son of George and Martha Banning Compton. He was married to Clara Oller February 26, 1925 in Shelbyville.
He was the last of his family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He leaves his wife, Clara; two sons, Frank of Lakewood and Donald of Cowden and two daughters, Mrs. George (Edith) Smith of Decatur and Mrs. Roger (Edna) Harris of Moweaqua. He also leaves eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
