The funeral of Samuel J. Forney took place from his late home on the Ballenger road, near this city, yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Services were held at the house conducted by Rev. Henri L. G. Kieffer, pastor of the Reformed church, assisted by Elder J. Welty Fahrney, of the Brethren church. There were many floral emblems. The pallbearers were Charles Falk, John Gonso, Walter Weaning, Keefer Toms, Hiram G. Thomas and William V. Wolfe. Burial was made in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Thomas P. Rice was the funeral director.
