On another side, one can barely see the word "Meeker". "As per an old newspaper, James E. and Jamima were buried here." submitted by Shirley Meeker. Maintained by interested community members.

Jemima BransonMeeker has a relatively easy ancestry to trace.
She was the daughter of Valentine Branson(1785-1876) and his second wife, Sarah Randolph Smith (1805-1878). The family started out in Gasconade County, MO (West of STL) and the moved to Gentry/Worth County area of NW Missouri - where both of Jemima's parents are buried in
Hoblit Cemetery Denver, Worth County, Missouri, USA.
it is worth nothing that Jemima Branson married James E. Meeker on 16aug1860 in Gentry County, MO with is the next county North of Worth County - and Gentry County has a large number of Meekers and there is fact a Meeker Cemetery in Gentry County. However I have yet to make a connection to James Meeker and the Meekers of the same Gentry County, MO where he met and married Jemima BransMeeker in 1860.
See "South Jordan Cemetery, Monona County, Iowa" where both James & Jemima (nee BransoN) Meeker are buried.
This link is also very informative on the Valentine Branson family-lineage
