Mrs. Tommie Jeanette Barfield McAllister of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Brightmoor Assisted Living.
Mrs. McAllister was born in Griffin, Georgia on August 7, 1930.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Lloyd Barfield and Alva Boyd Barfield; husband, John (Jack) Irvin McAllister.
She retired from Southern Bell after 35 years of service and then worked for Spalding County Tag and Tax Office for 18 years. Mrs. McAllister was a member of DeVotie Baptist Church, ABCettes and Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Charles Driggers; grandchildren, Zachary Driggers, Danielle Weathington and husband, Jody; great grandchildren, Tyler and Will Weathington; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Joyce McAllister; cousins, Donna Walker, Barbara Ann and Charles Davis, Dora Jean King; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Tommie B. McAllister will be on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Reverend Carlton Swicegood will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to DeVotie Baptist Church, 1355 Experiment St., Griffin, GA 30223 in memory of Mrs. McAllister.
