Mary Elizabeth "Meb" Charles, 78, of Quitman passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Conway. She was a former administrative assistant for University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, formerly Westark Community College. She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. "Jim" Charles; and a son, Lon Charles. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with cremain burial at Roselawn cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. She is survived by one daughter, Lee Vernon of Conway; two sons, Jon Charles of Kempner, Texas, and James Michael Charles of Quitman; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
