Richard Joseph Dauzat Sr. passed away on Wednesday November 30, 2011.

Beloved and dedicated husband and friend of Joyce Mitten Dauzat after 63 years of marriage. Loving father of Richard Joseph Dauzat Jr. (and wife, Diane) and Debra Dauzat Bradford (and husband, Larry). Proud grandfather of Christine Parks Aucoin (and husband, Christopher) and Andrea Bradford Stiebing (and husband, Michael). Devoted "Toonie Paw-Paw" of Cailyn, Camryn, Caidy and Carly Aucoin and Laney and Peyton Stiebing.

Son of the late Zoe Brou and Mayo Dauzat. Lifelong step-son of Rufas M. Bordelon. Brother of the late Geraldine Bordelon Davis. Also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Dauzat was a WWII United States Naval Veteran, a Superintendent with New Orleans Public Grain Elevator with many years of service, retired from 1st Lake Properties, will be loved and his craziness and ability to be the life of the party will be missed by all who knew him.

Aged 83 years, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for the past 55 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, on Friday afternoon December 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
