Virginia Speakman Services: Thurs., July 7, 9:00 a.m. Virginia Speakman passed away peacefully at age 87, on July 2, 2005. She was born in 1917 in Riverside, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Speakman, to whom she was married for 29 years. For many years she taught home economics in Bakersfield and other cities in California until she and George retired to Bakersfield. Her kind, loving and giving nature will be missed. She is survived by her stepson, Buzz Hoffmann and his family as well as her cousin, Carolyn Pfrimmer of Montana. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield, on Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimers Association.
