She was the daughter of Congressman Joseph Clay.

She first married Antony Laussat on April 12, 1831. He died in October 1833.

She then married John Richter Jones on March 24, 1841. He served as Colonel and commander of the 58th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War, and was killed in action.

They had 4 children.
