Wilber Man, 73, Had Lived in Community for 50 Years

EAST TAWAS - Funeral services were held from Grace Lutheran Tuesday afternoon for Paul Schaaf, 73, long-time resident of this community.

Services were preached by Rev. W.G. Wahlstrom of Bay City and were in charge of Moffatt funeral home. Burial was in East Tawas cemetery.

Mr. Schaaf was born April 2, 1867, in Saxony, Germany. He came to this country with his parents when he was seven years old. In 1893 he married Louise Forsman, who died 18 months ago.

Mr. Schaaf was a resident of East Tawas for a number of years and had resided in Wilber for the past 35 years.

He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Lena Westcott, Mrs. Augusta Anscheutz, Mrs. Fred Musolf and Mrs. Marie Anderson of Tawas City, and Mrs. Selma Thompson of Wilber; five brothers, Ferdinand of Minden City, Robert of Forestville, Richard of Deckerville and William of Marine City; 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
