Mrs. L. Sheffield Dies Saturday
Rites Held Sunday at Roganville for Native of County

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Friendship cemetery for Mrs. Lizzie Sheffield, 73, who died at her home in Roganville Saturday at 11:30 P. M. after a long illness. Rev. Allen DuBose of Peachtree officiated.

Mrs. Sheffield was a native of Jasper County having spent her entire life in the county. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church for many years, and was active in all civic affairs until recent years.

Surviving are her husband, J. J. Sheffield of Roganville; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Adams, Mrs. H. W. Behannon and Mrs. Hub Burnett all of Roganville; six sons, J. P. of Sour Lake, Lane of Jasper, and Joe, Marvin, Bruce, and Bob Sheffield, all of Roganville; one sister, Mrs. J. J. Weaver of Kirbyville; five brothers, Lucky Hawthorn of Kirbyville; V. B. Hawthorn of Shafter California, Ben Hawthorn of Memphis Tennessee, George Hawthorn of Toyah and Phillip Hawthorn of Teague.
