Margaret Mary (Thoms) Bergman, passed away June 25, 2013 in Wahoo, Nebraska. Margaret was born June 8, 1918 to Emil and Anna (Schmidt) Thoms.

Margaret grew up on a farm near Memphis, Nebraska and attended country school. On March 5, 1947, she married Otto "Jake" Bergman at Ithaca, Nebraska. Margaret and Otto lived near Weston, Nebraska until they moved to their farm east of Ceresco, Nebraska where Margaret stayed busy raising her son and daughter, milking cows and raising chickens, and working wherever she could on the farm. Throughout their early years together, Margaret and Otto enjoyed dancing and visiting with friends and family. The couple lived on the farm until 1987 when they retired and moved to Wahoo, Nebraska.

Margaret took pleasure in baking, playing cards and dominoes and attending her grandchildren's activities. She was a fixture at Wahoo (NE.) High School activities and attended games and plays until shortly before her 95th birthday. She was very involved in her family's lives and her new great-grandson brought a sparkle to her eye. Margaret was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ithaca, Nebraska and faithfully served in many capacities including the Ladies Aid, and as a Sunday School teacher.

Margaret is survived by: son, Ivan Bergman of Wahoo, Nebraska; daughter and son-in-law, Diann and Jim Chvatal of Wahoo, Nebraska; granddaughters, Alyssa (Dave) Nelson of Colon, Nebraska, Aleigh Chvatal (Jason Vogt) of Omaha, Nebraska; great-grandson Grady Nelson; sister-in-law Betty Jordan of Wahoo, Nebraska and a host of family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by: husband, William Otto "Bud" Bergman; brothers, Albert, Harry and Wilmer Thoms; sisters, Lena Miller, Marie Miller, Laura Saathoff and Emma Thoms.

Interment was in Sunrise Cemetery, Wahoo, Nebraska.
