WELDERT, Le Roy Norton - Born in Connell, Washington, August 6, 1918, to Elsie and Leo Norton Weldert. Relocated to Williams Valley in early 1920's and lived in the Deer Park and Spokane areas the remainder of his life.
Graduated Deer Park High School in 1934, was Past Master of the Williams Valley Grange, Deacon at the Open Door Congregational Church, member of the Deer Park Consolidated School District Board, American Jersey Cattle Club, and was active in many other community activities. Operated his family's dairy farm until '63 when he began working for Spokane County Road Dept. as a heavy equipment operator on North Spokane County roads.
In retirement, became a fixture at many local bowling alleys and bowled twice weekly until three weeks ago.
Preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Donna Jean Henry Weldert, his wife of 23 years, Sara Allison Weldert, his older sister, Virginia Barnhill, and recently by his younger brother, O. Vance Weldert.
Survived by his wife of 20 years, Ida Mae at the home; children Diane Marie Hansen (John), Donald LeRoy (Rhonda) and Rey Leon (Rebecca); stepsons, John Anthony Pfeffer (Sally) and John Hanon, Jr. (Robin); eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Friday May 1st, Noon to 5 PM and Saturday May 2nd, 8 - 11 AM at Heritage funeral home.
Graveside service on Saturday May 2nd 12 PM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
