Sara Jane Bair was born about 1857. She was 3 years old in the family's 1860 federal census report. Later documents give later dates of birth, and her death certificate gives September 1860. But that cannot be correct.

"Mrs. Sarah Jane Walling, 75, widow of Theodore R. Walling, died at 8:45 o'clock last night at the family home, 312 Gharkey street, following a short illness. Mrs. Walling was born in Jay County and had been a resident of Muncie for the past 27 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Lois Marie Walling, at home; three sons, Arthur Walling of Evanston, Ill., Clifton Walling of Crestwood, N.Y., and Ray Walling of Des Moines, Ia.; three grandchildren; one brother, John Bair of Flint, Mich., Mrs. Walling was an aunt of Mayor Rollin H. Bunch.
The body was removed to the Meeks mortuary. Funeral arrangements will be completed today.
