DE SMET — Betty Ann Goldsmith, 81, of De Smet, died on June 15 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in De Smet.

Services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church in De Smet with burial in the De Smet Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet.

Betty Ann Goldsmith was born on Aug. 25, 1931, to parents Henry and Elizabeth Janssen at Bancroft. She graduated from high school in De Smet in 1949.

She married Roy Erickson on June 1, 1958. They then farmed east of De Smet. She worked at the Oxbow Restaurant and had a fireworks stand on the farm that she operated for several years. She was a mail carrier for a few years. She enjoyed her Shetland ponies and chickens.

She married John "Jack" Goldsmith on Dec. 29, 1989, in Watertown. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in De Smet.

She is survived by two sisters, Sylvia (Norman) Lee of Custer, and Barbara Albers of Watertown; a brother, Larry (Naomi) Janssen of De Smet; an aunt, Geniveve Quiram of Huron; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands.
