DALLAS - Jack Lenoir Foxworth, 76, chairman of the board of Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Co., died Monday at his home in Dallas following a lengthy illness.
He was a native of El Paso, and moved to Dallas in 1923.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1930 and became company chairman of the board for Foxworth-Galbraith in 1980. He founded Galbraith Steel & Supply Co. in Dallas in 1936.
He was a past president of the Lumbermen's Association of Texas and was honored by the association in 1976 as Texas Lumberman of the Year.
He was a member and former chairman of the board of Northway Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Payne Foxworth, of Dallas; two sons, Walter L. Foxworth and Warren H. Foxworth, both of Dallas; and John P. Foxworth of El Paso; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Northway Christian Church. Memorials may be made to the Parkinsonism Society-Dallas, 9550 Forest Lane, Dallas, Texas, 75244, to the Northway Christian Church, or to a charity of choice.
