Herman Weiss, 81, Brother of Attorney, Passes Away.
Herman Weiss, retired wholesale merchant and brother of Joseph M. Weiss, Detroit attorney, died yesterday at the age of 81. He had been in ill health.
Mr. Weiss was born in Hungary, and spent the last 73 years of his life in Detroit. For many years he was a wholesale silk, linen and art goods dealer, later entering the insurance field.
He was a member of Union lodge, F. & A. M. He also belonged to the Independent Order of B'nai Brith and was an honorary member of the Keystone chapter, Eastern Star. He is survived by his son, Samuel H. Weiss; a brother, Joseph M. Weiss, and two sisters, Rosie and Annie Weiss.
Funeral services will be held at the residence, 448 Merrick avenue, at 2 o'clock Monday. Burial will be in Woodmere cemetery.
