KIRBYVILLE--Funeral for John Dewey Cofty, Sr, 77, will be at 2:00 PM Saturday in Causey's E E Stringer Funeral Home with burial in Davis Cemetery in Fawil. He died at 8:00 PM Wednesday in Jasper Memorial Hospital after an illness.
A native of Georgia, he had lived most of his life in the Kirbyville area. He was a retired salesman.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Brown of Kirbyville; six sons, John D, Jr and Thomas Cofty, both of Mont Belvieu, Vernon Cofty of Bon Wier, Samuel Cofty of Ft Polk, Donald Cofty of Kirbyville and John Bennie Cofty of Jasper; four sisters, Frances Gordan of Houston, Willie Wilson and Edna Moss, both of Fort Worth, Edith Cruz of Kirbyville, and one brother, Joe Cofty of Kirbyville.
