Forty years ago the family came to this state and settled at Tacoma. Later Mr. Alvord moved to Lewis county and when Gov. John R. Rogers was elected Mr. Alvord was appointed a guard at the reform school here. He had been bailiff in Judge W.O. Chapman's court at Tacoma the last 15 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Mr. Mina Twiss and Miss Mary Alvord, who is practicing law in Seattle; a son, Carl Alvord of Everett; two brothers in Kansas and one in Colorado.
