Dorothy "Dottie" Ellis, a resident of Clayhatchee, Ala., died Thursday, March 2, 2006, in Flowers Hospital. She was 79.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Level Plains with Dr. Sam Tate officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ellis will be placed in the church one hour before service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Level Plains Building Fund, 8189 County Road 1, Enterprise, AL 36330 or to the Wiregrass Gideons, PO Box 403, Daleville, AL 36322.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of The Wiregrass Gideons Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Frances Miller.
Surviving are her husband, George F. Ellis, Clayhatchee; daughter, Bonnie Evelyn Lang, Justin, Texas; twin sister, Doris Rimmer, Irvington, Ala.; two brothers, Richard Collins (Barbara), Clayhatchee, Willard Collins (Lee), Leesburg, Fla.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive.
