Odis served with the United States Navy from 1950-1954. He retired from Winn-Dixie, Akers-Center after 40 plus years of service. Odis brightened the lives of everyone he met. His warm smile and positive personality caused people to laugh and smile even in the darkest of times. He was a long-time member of First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City where he sang in the choir for many years and The Golden Chorus. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation for the love and care given to Odis by Morningside Assisted Living in Gastonia and the North Carolina Veterans Home in Salisbury.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Steve Biddix and wife Lisa of Gastonia; daughters, Tammie Biddix Dockweiller and husband Chris Dockweiller of Angel Fire, New Mexico; Tena Biddix Buchanan and husband Rev. Tommy Buchanan of Kings Mountain;daughter-in-law, Jane Hines Biddix; brother, Bobby Biddix and wife Jeri of Reston, VA.; brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Jan Peck of Bessemer City; Vicky Biddix of MN; Ralph and Dot Long of Kernersville; grandchildren, Ben Biddix, Lee Biddix, John Biddix, Clint Biddix, Ciera Buchanan, Andrew Buchanan, Kala Cord, Christy Falls, Hannah Dockweiller-Olguin; great-grandchildren, Janiyah and Josiah Moore; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nadine Peck Biddix; son, Benny Biddix; brothers, Paul Biddix, Marvin Biddix, Joe Biddix, Junior Biddix; sisters, Aldie Biddix Odom, Evelyn Biddix Hughes; brother and sisters-in-law, Ruth Biddix, Judy Biddix, Barbara Biddix, Dave Odom, Bill and Mae Rayfield, Charles and Betty Webster; mother and father-in-law, Roy Lee "Jack" Peck and Florence Peck.
