PHILIPSBURG - Mrs. Alice Croyle, 69, of Philipsburg and formerly of Black Moshannon, died at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at her residence.

Born on July 18, 1919, in New Liberty, she was the daughter of John C. and Margaret J. Pilkington.

On Feb. 18, 1935, in Philipsburg she married John W. Croyle Sr., who preceded her in death in October 1971.

Surviving are three children: Mrs. Willard (Marlene) Verbeck of Troy, John W. Croyle Jr. of New Liberty and Billie Joe Croyle of Bellefonte; one sister, Doris Fritz of Beckley, W.Va.; a half sister, Barbara Ann Cristoff of Lewistown; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father, one son, Frank, and two brothers and one sister.

She was a Protestant by faith.

Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Dahlgren and Gilham Funeral Home in Philipsburg with Dr. Bobby Bell officiating.

Interment will be in Beaver Cemetery in Black Moshannon.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
