Ottis Lee Ayers died February 4, 1977 at the age of 61 at his residence in Winnsboro, Texas. He was born July 15, 1915 in Franklin County to William Ayers and Maud Rhoades Ayers. He attended Good Hope High. He entered the US Army in 1943, and trained at Ft Sam Houston, He served in France, Germany, and Italy. He was awarded EAME, 8 Bronze Stars, Dist. Unit Badge, 1 OLC, GC Ribbons. He was discharged in 1945 as a PFC. He married Pauline "Lavern" Wall July 18, 1947. They had four daughters. He was farmer by trade.
