Tina Mae Sanger
On Monday, May 11th, 2009, our beloved Tina Mae Sanger passed away at her home on Crescent Road. She was in her 90th year.
Born Tina Mae Cole on August 29, 1918, at Glen Daniel, she was the 5th of eight children born to the late Mike Robert and Citi Ambrose Cole. Her sisters, Grace Brunty and Ora Acord, and brothers, Lundy, Grady, and Troy Cole, also preceded her in death.
Tina spent her childhood at Glen Daniel. A resident of Crescent Road for the past 37 years, she was a former resident of Fairdale. When she was able, she attended the Family Worship Center here in Beckley. Tina loved tending to her flowers and gardening.
In addition to her family she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Sanger; her daughter, Mary Sauls and her husband Darrell; and a granddaughter, Melissa Meadows.
The loving mother of Lucy Terry and her husband Buford and Patty Meadows and her husband Virgil, all of Beckley; she was the doting grandmother of Rick Sauls, Michelle Meadows, Melonie and Scott Terry and Kevin Meadows; the great-grandmother of Brandon and Jeremy Sauls, Ryan Thompson and Noah Meadows and the great-great-grandmother of Issac, Caleb, Sarah and Seth Sauls; the fond sister of Ruth Cozart of Beckley and John Cole of Fairdale; several nieces and nephews and old friends also survive.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Karen Elliott officiating. Tina will then be laid to rest beside her beloved Woodrow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service on Wednesday.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
