Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008 at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for Cecile Alleman Broussard, 92, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at her son, Alphe's home, where she resided for the final months of her life.Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.Reverend Gilbert J. Dutel, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. The giftbearer for the mass will be Kristina Deville. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "How Great Thou Art", "On Eagles' Wings", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Be Not Afraid" and "Here I Am Lord."Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Bittner and her husband, Blaine, Lois Manuel and her husband, Clif and Barbara Richard, all of Lafayette; her sons, Alphe Bower, Jr. and his wife, Ruth of Rayne, Gerald Bower and his wife, Wanda of Baton Rouge and Nason Bower and his wife, Peggy of Moss Bluff; twenty grandchildren, Tim and David Bittner, Dawn Deville, Raelyn Istre, Celia Duhon, Mark and Michael Manuel, Amanda Schexnailder, Wendy Davis, Lisa Pitre, Toni Goodwin, Aaron Young, Rachel Daigle; Bryan, Thomas, Brian, Amy, Michael, Lori Beth and Kelly Bower; and twenty-six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Merlin, Charles Murphy, Louis and Caesar Alleman.She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Alleman and Marie Schexnayder Alleman; her former husbands, Alphe Bower, Sr. and Howard Broussard; her sisters, Rita, Maria, Dora, Loretta, Anna, Mathilde and Felicia; her brothers, Tony, Esteve, Laodice, Joseph, Ardon and Amedee Alleman.A native of Rayne, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette Parish for most of her adult life, Mrs. Broussard was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was a loving and gentle woman whose faith and strength was a great source of inspiration. Cherished by her family, she will be dearly missed.
