HAMMONS, GLENN D., 71, of Cecilia, KY, formerly of Louisville, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2004. He was a native of Knox County, KY, and raised in Laurel County, KY. He was a real estate broker, a farmer and a former instructor at the old Kentucky School of Mortuary Science from 1965-1973. He served as Laurel County coroner in the early 1960s. He was an Army veteran and a member of Summit (KY) United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Greer, and brothers, Virgil and Harold Hammons. He is survived by his wife, Bennie Lou Hammons; sons, Ben G. (Tana) and H. Ernest Hammons; brothers, Chester, Ray and Jerry Hammons; and a sister, Evelyn Stanberry. His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Summit United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Foreman Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will continue from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at London (KY) Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at A.R. Dyche Memorial Cemetery in London. Memorial gifts may go to the American Kidney Foundation or to Summit United Methodist Church, PO Box 176, Eastview, KY 42732.
