Colleen Frances Shew of Springfield, Oregon died June 4, 2005 of complications of pneumonia. She was 83.

Colleen was born July 2, 1921, in Clinton, Wis., to Harold and Elda Hughes Reed. She married Charlie Alderman on July 7, 1939, in Wisconsin. He died Feb. 2, 1956. She married William Swank on Sept. 2, 1957, in Springfield. He died June 9, 1981. She married Orange Smith on Feb. 14, 1984, in Eugene. He died March 12, 1986. She married Glen Shew on Nov. 26, 1986, in Cottage Grove. He died Dec. 26, 1996.

She moved from Wisconsin to Springfield in 1946. She had lived primarily in the Springfield-Eugene area since 1946, but also lived briefly in Klamath Falls. She was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting dolls, sending cards and letters, oil painting and Bible study. She had been active in several churches, most recently Garden Way Church in Eugene.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Graham of Springfield and Charleen Winter of Myrtle Point; a son, Daniel Alderman of Aberdeen, Wash.; three stepdaughters, Sharon Merenkov and Linda Hopkins, both of Colorado and Marjorie Fletcher of Utah; a stepson, Bill Swank of Colorado; two sisters, Idabelle Goode-King of Eugene and Vaughnette Wiskow of Cottage Grove; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild.
