MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Earl D. Brechbill, 85, of Mechanicsburg, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Messiah Village, Upper Allen Township, Pa.

Born Feb. 4, 1917, in Auburn, Ind., he was the son of the late Albert H. and Cora Miller Brechbill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Kanode Brechbill, on Jan. 7, 2002.

He attended Messiah Bible College.

He began his ministry at Iron Springs Brethren in Christ Church in 1935. In June 1937, he went to Kentucky to assist with summer tent meetings. He served pastorates in Michigan, Saskatchewan, Canada, Pennsylvania and Maryland. His primary employment for 31 years was at Grove Manufacturing Co. in Shady Grove, Pa., from which he retired as company chaplain.

He is survived by
three daughters,
Leola Herr of Mechanicsburg, Ohio,
Faye Shelly of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and
Charlotte White of Guilford, Conn.;
one son, J. Albert Brechbill of Big Pool;
four sisters,
Ruth Lehman of Carlisle, Pa.,
Anita Brechbill of Mifflinburg, Pa.,
Esther Pearce of Maitland, Fla. and
Frances Ulery of Anaheim Hills, Calif.;
two brothers,
Robert Brechbill of Independence, Kan. and
Joseph Brechbill of Hershey, Pa.;
his friend, Emilie Replogle of Messiah Village;
10 grandchildren and
20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church near Greencastle, Pa.

Burial will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Messiah Village and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church. Visitation also will be Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Messiah Village Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 2015, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; or Brethren in Christ World Missions, 431 Grantham Road, Grantham, PA 17027.
