Robert W. Harrison, Sr.
Pine Plains - Robert W. Harrison, Sr., a former resident of Pine Plains, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 85.
He was born on June 28, 1926 in Stanfordville, NY, the son of the late Paul Harrison Sr. and Ethel (Hotaling) Harrison.
Mr. Harrison owned and operated an excavating company.
He was an avid bowler.
Robert is survived by his seven children, Robert W. Harrison, Jr. of Orlando, FL; Sylvia Howard and her husband Joseph of Red Hook, NY; Dennis Harrison of Torrington, CT; Richard Harrison and his wife Laurie of Grantville, PA; Cindy Bowen and her Husband Randy of Millbrook, NY; Rosiela Bove of Putnam Valley, NY; and Antoinette Shook of Waverly, TN; seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Harrison, in 1974, and by a daughter, Florence Ethel Harrison, as well as several brothers and sisters.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Alzheimer's Association , 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
