Leonard was a lifelong Nashua resident. He graduated from Nashua High School. Leonard was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Prior to retirement, Leonard worked at Gas Service Incorporated in Nashua. Leonard loved the beach, playing golf, bowling, and travel, especially when he drove cross country to Alaska in 1989. He was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague Church.
Leonard was predeceased by his son Michael Abood.
Leonard leaves his sister Carol Putnam and husband Donald of Nashua; nieces Pamela Bliss, and Cynthia Coughlin and husband Patrick; nephew Thomas Putnam; grandnieces Kate Croft, Meagan Coughlin, and Molly Coughlin; grandnephew Tyler Putnam; and sisters-in-law Mary Anne Castonguay of High Gate Springs VT, Irene Taylor of Nashua, Cecile Duquette of Nashua, and Alice Plautz and husband Dr. A. Plautz of Madison WI.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM, in the Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home, 21 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, in St. Louis de Gonzague Church, 48 West Hollis St., Nashua, at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
