APPLE CREEK -- Bernice E. Reber, 99, of Apple Creek, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at the Wayne County Care Center, following a period of declining health.She was born near Apple Creek, on July 7, 1909, to Rudolph and Amelia (Amstutz) Badertscher and had lived all of her life near Apple Creek.She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Orrville, the Fountain Valley Homemakers Club and the Apple Creek Senior Citizens.On April 12, 1936, she married Frederick J. Reber. He died March 24, 1997.She is survived by five children, Dr. John (Sylvia) Reber, Larry (Becky) Reber, Donald (Faye) Reber and Christine (Namen) Dalton, all of Apple Creek, and Dwight Reber of Idaho; 17 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton. Burial will be in the Apple Creek Cemetery.
