Sarah Edwards died at the home of her son, G.W. Edwards, at Hubbell Neb. Saturday, Feb 3 1900 aged 84 years 5 months and 11 days and was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery Monday, the funeral being preached in Hubbell, by Rev. Belleville of the Presbyterian church.
The deceased had made her home with her son, George, ever since the latter was married and was well known and respected by all the old settlers of the Maple Grove community.
She leaves three sons, G.W. Edwards and T.H. Edwards of Hubbell, and S.M. Edwards of Omaha Ark., and two daughters, Mrs. M.J. Starks of Webb City, Mo. and Mrs. Mindie Gerdner of Palmyra Ill.
In her early life she united with the M.E. Church, but about fifteen years ago she joined the Maple Grove C.P. church, and remained a faithful member and consistent Christian until she was called to her reward. The Narka C.P. church was organized in her house in 1878.
Besides her children she leaves 23 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Sarah Edwards was born in Shelby county, Kentucky April 22, 1815. She died February 3, 1900, aged 84 years, 9 months, and 11 days. Her maiden name was Anderson and she was married to Henry Edwards on March 16, 1834. As a result of this union 10 children were born to them. Three sons and two daughters survive her. One of the surviving children lives in Illinois, one in Missouri, one in Arkansas, and two sons, Thomas and George, live near this place.

Gravesite Details

Maiden name added per Laura Morrison, wife of Sarah's 2G grandson. There is good evidence that Sarah is buried with her husband Henry Edwards. No written record has been found to prove that however.
