Billy Wayne McClaran

Billy Wayne McClaran passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his daughter and granddaughter’s telling him they loved him on Friday, September 30th.

Bill McClaran was born on December 4, 1947 in the town of Texas City, Texas. He was the middle child of A.B. and Helen McClaran.

Bill grew up in Texas City and graduated from Texas City High school in 1967. He went on to become a pipefitter and later found his passion for the car industry in sales and finance. For many years Bill loved coaching and watching girls softball. Some of his hobbies were fishing, reading, dominoes, card games, gardening and picking/shelling pecans.

Bill was a member of Texas City Missionary Baptist Church where he developed a strong friendship with Pastor Carl Strickland as well as many others. He loved his church family and enjoyed spending time there for socials, revivals and dominoes
.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the 5th floor Heart & Vascular team at Memorial Hermon Houston Medical Center for their loving care and support.
Additionally, a big thank you to Caycie Brandon, Laney McLeod and Sheri Stewart for going above and beyond to care for him.

A time of gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 5th with a visitation at 5:00pm and funeral service at 6:00pm at Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City. Bill will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 6th at 12:00pm at Salem Cemetery in Teague Texas.

Survivors include Daughter, Leslie and husband Johnny Lawson; Daughter, Tara and husband Darren Ramsey; Granddaughter, Ashley and husband Jordan; Granddaughter, Sarah Lawson; Grandson, Dylan Ramsey; Great Grandchildren, Stella, Tilly and River Sime; Brother, Eldon A.B McClaran.

Honorary Pall bears are Johnny Lawson, Jordan Same, Darren Ramsey, Billy Simmons, Robert Strickland.
