Andy Hackett Jr., age 87 of Wanette, passed away Tuesday June 18, 2013, in Enid, OK. Andy was born November 26, 1925 in Trousdale, OK, the oldest of 5 children born to Andy Orson Hackett SR and Eula Gertrude (Harp) Hackett. He was raised in Trousdale and attended school there. Like many at that time, Andy dropped out of school to work on the farm, in order to help his family. He served in the United States Army as a sharpshooter during W.W. II. His exemplary service earned him the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the EAME Campaign Ribbon with 1 bronze Star, a Victory Ribbon and the Army of Occupation Ribbon of Germany. After the war, he returned back home to Oklahoma and married his true love, a young lady from Trousdale named Pauline A. Adams. They made their home in Wanette where together they raised a daughter, Kathy and 3 sons, Stanley, Paul and Matt. Andy was a hard worker and great provider and worked as a machinist for many years. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to tell a good joke. He enjoyed boot scooting and was a member of the American Legion in Konawa. Andy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wanette. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by: His wife, Pauline Hackett and His parents, Andy Sr. and Eula Hackett;

Andy leaves behind: His daughter, Kathy Blackwell of Cromwell, OK; 3 sons, Stanley Hackett of Konawa, OK, Paul Hackett of Slaughtersville, OK and Matt Hackett of Moore, OK; 2 sisters, Inez Gould of Ada, OK and Velda Rogers of Choctaw, OK; 2 brothers, Vernon Hacket of OKC, OK and Herman Hackett of Enid; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson A host of other family and friends.
