Mrs. Bettye Jean (Baker) Turner, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, in the comfort of her home at the age of 89. Bettye was born in Earle on Thursday, October 9, 1930, the daughter of Mr. Frank Baker and Mrs. Elizabeth (Biggs) Baker.

Bettye was a 1949 graduate of Earle High School and on October 29 of the same year, she and Mr. Joe Turner were united in marriage. Bettye and Joe cherished 61 years together prior to Mr. Turner’s passing in 2011. Mrs. Turner was a faithful member of Union Avenue Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking, and spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren.

Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Turner; parents, Frank and Elizabeth Baker; and nine siblings, Violet, Pete, Daisey, Jim, Pat, Bob, Mike, Charles, and Helen.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Lawson and husband, Robert, of Wynne; Mary Lou Parkman and husband, Robert, of Wynne; and Jo Ann Roberson and husband, Bubba, of Vanndale; seven grandchildren, April, Bryan, Kelly, Matt, Lauren, Jeff, and Rusty; 15 great-grandchildren, Bri, Bryce, Bren, Bailey, Cameron, Bryan-Steven, Katlyn, Angel, Gracie, Si, Riley, Owen, Olivia, Emery, and Eli; two great-great-grandchildren, Harper and Landon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted privately under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne. Interment will be in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
