JESSE LEE DOBBS, 66, of Friendswood, TX passed away on June 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family in Webster, TX after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 22, 1946 in Coleman, TX to Robert Dobbs and Stella Paul Dobbs. He went through eighth grade at Coleman Junior High (classmates fondly remembered) then moved to Sandy Point, TX attending school and graduating from Angleton High School, class of 1964. He attended Alvin Community College before joining the US Army and serving from December 1964-November 1967. He attained the rank of SP5 with Advisory Team 99 in Duc Hoa Vietnam. His medals included Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), Vietnam Service, National Defense Service and Vietnam Campaign.

Returning from his service to his country, he attended Sam Houston State College for three years. He worked construction for five years, and then went to work for Oxirane/Arco/LyondellBasell on September 16, 1974. Jesse retired from LyondellBasell/Bayport Operations December, 2009 (35 years). Jesse was a loyal patriot and very proud of his military service.

He was a Disabled American Veteran and a member of the DAV organization. There were many trips to Las Vegas, and Lake Charles to gamble, do a little boot scootin and numerous other vacations. He loved spending time in Ruidoso, NM, attending many grandchildren's events but most of all he loved hanging out at home, with his wife and family. His most recent past time was riding around in his Corvette convertible. When he felt up to it we drove around town with the top down and the wind blowing in our hair playing some of Merle Haggard and George Jones's old country tunes, or he was sitting on a low stool in the garage polishing the paint off the car. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by parents, Stella and Robert Dobbs; mother and father-in-law Lorean and Loyd Weldon; son, Lloyd Curtis Johnson; brother, Eugene Dobbs; sisters, Patsy Robbins, Elsie Randall; brothers-in-laws, Farrell Randall, Norman "Toby" Kincaid; nephews, Joe Pat Robbins and Phillip Dean Kincaid.

Annette and her children, Chet and DeAnn Johnson, Jana and Mike Smalley, Misty and Joe Ferro; Nine grandchildren, Jacy and Grant Cooper, Chase Johnson, Alexandra Ferro, Aaron Johnson, Kady Smalley, Victoria, Joseph, and Olivia Ferro and two-great grandchildren, Caymus and Gjelina Cooper; expecting another great-grandchild in September.
